WOMAN SUICIDED
Word reached here yesterday from Clarinda that Mrs. Sam Josendal as found dead in her room at the state hospital, a suicide. The body will be shipped here for burial and the funeral will be private. Mrs. Josendal has been ill for a number of years and was taken to the state hospital for treatment several months ago.

Mrs. Sam Josendal (nee Anna Halverson) was born at Gjesmervik, Norway, April 6, 1864, and died at the state hospital in Clarinda on April 19, 1932, at the age of 68 years and 13 days.
She came to Vermillion, S. D., in 1886, where she was married to Sam Josendal in 1889. They lived on a farm near that place until 1907, when they moved to Roland, whre they have since resided.
She is survived by her husband, three brothers, John Halverson of Toronto, S. D., Henry Halverson of Vancouver, B. C., and Lewis Halverson of Seattle, Wash., and a sister, Mrs. Helen Jameson of Chicago. A niece, Lillian Halverson, has made her home with the family for some time and also survives.
Mrs. Josendal was taken ill some years ago and was confined for two years at the Clarinda hospital. She was apparently cured and returned to her home, but became worse last year and on January 2, 1932, was returned to the hospital, where she died from strangulation.
A private funeral service was held Friday afternoon at the Josendal home, Rev. M. O. Sumstad officiating, and interment was made in the Roland cemetery. Pall bearers were T. J. Jacobson, E. H. Mathison, P. M. Martens, Levi Espeland, Elliott and Cyrus Thompson.
