THE STORY CITY HERALD, Story City, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, February 10, 2010.

Ruby Marie Borton, 72, of Roland, died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, Iowa. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 6, at 10:00 a.m. at Bible Faith Church at 405 Cedar St. in Story City with burial to follow at the Roland Cemetery. There was a visitation of family and friends on Friday, Feb. 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City.

Ruby Marie Borton was born Nov. 7, 1937 to George
and Arlene (Sansgaard) Hall in Story City, Iowa. She graduated Story City High School in 1955. Ruby and Albert D. Borton were married Oct. 9, 1955. She was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland and attended Bible Faith Church in Story City.. She was a homemaker and worked for a few years at the Roland-Story Middle School. Ruby enjoyed quilting, crafts, Bible study, spending time with her family, and watching her granddaughter Jessica's games.

Ruby is survived by her mother Arlene Holts of Charles City, Iowa; her son Steve and his wife Robin Borton of Roland; her brother Richard Hall of Charles City; her sister Alma Baker of Boone, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Beau Borton and Jessica Borton.

She was preceded in death by her father, George; her husband, Albert; two sons, Larry Borton and Jerry Borton and a sister, Dorothy Borton.
