THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, February 9, 2010.

Robert Franklin Allen, 52, of Newton, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at home. Memorial funeral service will be at a later date, with no visitation planned at this time.

Robert Franklin Allen was born Jan. 31, 1958, in Ames, the son of Robert F. and Laura J. (Wilkin) Allen. He was a graduate of Ames Senior High, Class of 1976. A longtime resident of the Ames area, he moved to Newton in 2000. He was employed as a clerk by the Wal-Mart Superstore in Newton. He had devoted his life to his family and friends. He enjoyed his cat, going to the YMCA and playing video games.

Those left to honor Bob’s memory include one brother, Michael Allen, of Rockford, Minn.; one sister, Randi Allen-Martin, of Madrid; and his many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
