Clysta Alapai, 53, of Ames, died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, in Ames. Services were Feb. 3, at Adams Funeral Home in Ames.

Clysta Jean "Jeannie" Alapai was born March 1, 1956 in Wichita, Kan., to Albert and Velma (Shepherd) White. She married Duane Alapai Oct. 31, 1980. She was devoted to her family. Clysta enjoyed the outdoors, playing cards, camping, fishing, cooking, going to casinos, and soaps on TV.

She is survived by her husband, Duane; two daughters, Kuuipo and Shantel; four sisters, Diane Cleary, Patricia Kennedy, Debby Vannover and Mary Guidry; brother, JD Sizemore; and granddaughter, Haylee.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Donna White and Wanna Kay Moses.
