J. Eric Lundby, 65 of Ft. Worth, Texas died suddenly on Monday, December 14, 2009 at the Harris Methodist Fort Worth Hospital. Memorial graveside services, with full military honors, were held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30 at the Nevada Municipal Cemetery with Pastor David R. Burling officiating.

Julius Eric Lundby was born on October 26, 1944 in Indianola to C.O. and Olga (Moore) Lundby. He grew up in New Virginia, Iowa. Eric was a 1968 graduate of Simpson College in Indianola. On November 17, 1967, he married Diane K. McLain in Bethany, MO. Eric proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He had a long and distinguished career in property and casualty insurance and excelled in his field. Eric was a devoted husband and father who was a loyal, kind, and generous man. He was a devout Lutheran and was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Worth. An accomplished golfer and season-ticket-holding Dallas Cowboys fan, he derived much joy from his hobbies and athletic pursuits. Eric’s generosity and love were greatly appreciated by many.

Eric is survived by his wife, Diane (McLain) Lundby of Ft. Worth, Texas; a daughter, Jessica Lundby of Venice, CA; sisters Eva (Max) Deal of West Des Moines and Erin (Ed) Fox of St. Paul, MN; his mother-in-law, Jonnie McLain of Nevada; brothers-in-law, Fred (Peggy) McLain and Frank (Cynthia) McLain; sister-in-law, Cindy McLain; nieces, nephews, and close friends, Lyle and Cindy Peterson of Norwalk.

Eric was preceded in death by his parents.

In memory of Eric, memorials may be given to the charity of the donor’s choice.
