Caroll Wayne Louks, 94 of Nevada died on Saturday, December 26 at the Story County Senior Care. Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 29 at the Memorial Lutheran Church, 701 11th Street in Nevada with Pastor Myron Herzberg officiating. Burial followed in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Caroll was born on January 20, 1915 in Dayton, Iowa. He was the only child of Everett Harrison and Mildred (Guge) Louks. Caroll was raised in Milford Township and graduated from Milford Consolidated School in 1932. He was the oldest surviving member of the school at the time of his death. On August 7, 1940, Caroll married Maxine Leone Hoel at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. He farmed and worked for the Story County ASCS office. Caroll was a government bin supervisor for 28 1/2 years. After he retired in 1975, he did local contractor painting for a few years. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church and a 50 plus member of the Moose Lodge in Ames. When his wife Maxine passed away, Caroll moved into Story County Long Term Care. He enjoyed his stay there and the great care he received. Caroll also enjoyed dancing, fishing, word puzzles, and playing cards. Beating his two daughters at Cribbage was a highlight for him. Caroll also enjoyed the many family gatherings and spending time with the grandchildren and relatives.

Caroll is survived by his two daughters, Dixie Fink (Roger) Honold of Grimes and Linda (Ralph) Appelgate of Ames; 4 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

Caroll was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Maxine on September 21, 2002.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with Caroll and his family.
