Ervin L. Hidlebaugh, 85, of Kelley, died Monday, December 14, 2009, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada. Funeral services were held on Friday, December 18, at Stevens Memorial Chapel. Burial followed in Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Ervin Hidlebaugh was born May 20, 1924 in Bayard, to Edgar and Emma (Kopaska) Hidlebaugh. He married Mabel “Ardell” Earwicker on August 1, 1948.

He served in the Army Air Corps during WW II. He was employed at John Deere for 33 years. He loved stock car racing and golf and was a charter member of Ballard Country Club.

He is survived by a son, Steve Hidlebaugh and his companion, Deanna Denker of Kelley; two daughters, Vicki (Robert) Allen of Aiken, SC, and Valerie (Delmar) Anderson of Polk City; stepdaughter, Shirley Barber of Ames; ten grandchildren; and nineteen great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; brother, Eldon; stepdaughter, Sharon Keeney; and stepson, Charles Raymond Keeney.
