THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, December 9, 2009.

Sandra M. Bryant, 70, of Slater, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 11, at Slater United Methodist Church in Slater. Burial will be in Slater Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at the church.

Sandra was born Jan. 17, 1939, in Des Moines, to Arnold and Dorothy (Horsley) Ness. She enjoyed gardening and her flowers. She loved spending time with family and friends, especially going to Minnesota on vacations. She helped her daughter with daycare and was known as the donut and pizza lady at the Break Pointe and Casey’s stores.

She is survived by her husband, Loren; children, Joni and Derrick Stewart, Jerry and Nancy Rex, Stacey and Joe Hildebrand, John and Kristen Adams, Mike and Terry Bryant, and Rhonda and Scott Lowe; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Ness (Sandy Plager); and many other family and friends.

Sandra was preceded in death by her granddaughter; Mandy Mahaffey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Slater United Methodist Church or Israel Family Hospice House.

Soderstrum Riis Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
