THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Saturday, November 28, 2009.

Deborah Kay Noll, 53, of Ames, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.

A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, with a vigil service at 6:30 p.m. at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames with Father James Secora presiding. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, in Vale Cemetery in Bonaparte. Following the interment, a memorial service will start at 3:30 p.m. at the Harrisburg Baptist Church in Bonaparte.

Deborah Noll was born April 25, 1956, in Keosauqua to Leonard and Lois (Phelps) Noll. She graduated from Van Buren High School in 1974. She was a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa. She served in the Peace Corps in Liberia for two years. She had been an academic advisor at St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas, and currently was an academic advisor at ISU in the College of Business.

She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church and the National Academic Advising Association, where she chaired the Advising Business Majors Committee from 2007 to 2009.

She loved sewing, cooking, gardening and crafts. She was actively involved with activities at the Boys and Girls Club.

She is survived by one son, John, of Ames; parents, Leonard and Lois Noll, of Stockport; six siblings, Cheryl (Lee) Maxfield, of Georgia, Russell (Kathy) Noll, of Bonaparte, Ronald (Diane) Noll, of New London, Steven (Linda) Noll, of Lisbon, Christopher (Brenda) Noll, of Bonaparte, and Daniel (Kamar) Noll, of Virginia; and nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be directed to her son John’s college fund or St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
