Maurice L. Clark, 79, of Ames died Thursday, November 12 at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 17 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Slater with Rev. Heidi Williams officiating. Burial was in the Slater Municipal Cemetery.
Maurice was born May 13, 1930 in to Clarence H. and Fern (Denby) Clark. He married LaVonne Sydnes March 21, 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-55 and was a test Engineer at John Deere in Ankeny. Maurice was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and Slater American Legion. He and LaVonne moved to Ames in 1990 from Slater. He enjoyed his family, woodworking, playing golf, attending Elderhostels and going to Branson. He was also active in promoting donor awareness and volunteering at Mary Greeley Medical Center.
He is survived by his wife, LaVonne of Ames; four children, Gary (Diane) Clark of Wayzata, MN, Ann (Greg) Jensen of SW Ranches, FL, David (Annette) Clark of Redwood City, CA and Rebecca (C.J.) Williams of Cedar Rapids, IA; one sister Sherrill (Walt) Behn of Gresham, OR and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Iowa Donor Network, or the Slater Area Historical Association and may be sent to Greg and Ann Jensen, 16850 Berkshire Court, SW Ranches, FL 33331.
