Michael Anderson, 59, of Zearing, died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at his home. Memorial services are pending with Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada.

Michael Anderson, 59, of Zearing died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009 at his home. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada. Burial of the cremains, with military rites, will follow the visitation at 1:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Township Cemetery in Zearing with Pastor David R. Burling officiating.

Anderson was born April 29, 1950, in Ames to David Dale and Amy Anne (Valline) Anderson. He was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. On April 11, 1987, Mike married Kelly Lynn Kirk in Nevada. He was a truck driver. His greatest joy was his dog Buddy.

Anderson is survived by two sons, Brian Anderson, of Zearing, and Justin (Maria) Anderson, of Ames; two daughters, Crystal (Chad) Dobson, of Nevada, and Amy (Rob) Boal, of Cambridge; his mother, Amy Herman of Bushnell, Neb.; and mother-in-law Pauline Kirk, of Zearing; five grandchildren, Celine Kashinskie, Dalton Dobson, Averie Dobson, Faythe Anderson, and an expected grandchild in May; two brothers, Mark Anderson, of Ames, and Matt McKinnley of Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Susan Anderson-Whipp, of Ames, and Sarah Winters, of Bushnell, Neb.; and sister-in-law Kim (David) Roberts, of Zearing.

Anderson was preceded in death by his father, David Anderson; his wife, Kelly, on Sept. 5, 2008; father-in-law, Roger Kirk; and grandparents, Swede and Elizabeth Valline.

A memorial fund has been established in Mike’s name.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with Mike and his family.
