THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, November 10, 2009.

Esther (Luft) Pedigo, 97, died Sunday, Nov. 8, 2009, at Bickford Cottage in Ames. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Bryant Funeral Home, 1425 Patton Road, in Great Bend, Kan. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Great Bend Cemetery, with Rev. Dick Ogle officiating.

She was born May 31, 1912, in Otis, Kan., to Henry and Lydia (Moore) Luft. She attended grade school in Great Bend, Kan. She married Bruce Preston Pedigo on May 29, 1932, in Great Bend, Kan., where they lived until moving to Ames in December 1997. She worked at St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend, Kan., and was a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Great Bend, Kan., and Ames.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Lois) Pedigo, of Ames; grandson, Bruce Pedigo and his three children, of Chicago; and granddaughter, Brenda Cloyd and her two children, of Ames.

She was preceded in death by her husband on July 18, 1999; sister, Alice Green; and brothers, Milton, Herman and Victor Luft.
