THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, November 8, 2009.

Marcella M. (Callahan) Lonsdale, 95, of New Hope, Minn., passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2009, with her family at her side. A memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov 10, at Church of St. Austin, 41st Street and Thomas Avenue North, Minneapolis, with visitation after 10 a.m. Burial will be private.

She was born Oct 31, 1914, in Minot, N.D. She was a registered nurse, a tireless volunteer, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a steadfast friend to many.

She is survived by one son, Thomas (Sharon Drake), of Ames; one daughter, Jean M. (Tom) Melander, of Apple Valley, Minn.; grandchildren, Susan Lonsdale (Mark Stith), of Seattle, Wash., Tony Lonsdale, of Billings, Mont., and Michael Melander (Lindsey), of Apple Valley, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Alice and Aiden Melander; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Richard E. Lonsdale in 1988; her parents; Charles and Grace Callahan; and her siblings, Jack, Gerald and Jeanne.
