NEVADA — Jerrie Ann Friest, 59, of Nevada, died Wednesday, Oct. 7, at her home. Private graveside services will be held at a later date.

Jerrie was born June 3, 1950 at Eldora, Iowa, the daughter of Merle and Wilma (Glenney) Cockerham. Jerrie graduated from Nesco High School in 1968 and from the Iowa Methodist School of Nursing in 1971. Jerrie was united in marriage to Donald E. Friest on October 5, 1974 in Des Moines. Jerrie had been a registered nurse. She and Don owned their own business, Whisper Clean, where she was the bookkeeper.

Jerrie is survived by her husband, Donald “Don” Friest of Nevada, IA; a brother: James Cockerham of Rhodes, IA; and two sisters: Jeannie Zwygart of Collins, IA and Jolene Conrad of Zearing, Ia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister: Judy Jones.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
