THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, September 27, 2009.

David J. Miller of Janesville, WI, died on September 17 at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. He was 74 years old. Born April 15, 1935 in Paris, MO, Dr. Miller earned degrees in Agriculture, Journalism, and Higher & Adult Education from UM-Columbia and Florida State University.

He served on the faculties of the U of MO, NDSU, ISU, the U of WI-Madison, and the U of MN – Duluth, and traveled widely as an international consultant.

He is survived by his wife, Maretta; three children: Betty (Frank) Goff, of Janesville; son, Paul (Kim), of Evansville; and daughter Fran (Rick) Buschmann, of Big Lake, Minn.; and five grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

A Memorial Service will be at Brookside Park in Ames at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3.

David J. Miller Memorial gifts sent to 1650 Garden Drive, Janesville, WI, 53546 will fund an undergraduate research internship in museum operations and projects using the Moringa plant to address hunger around the world.
