Ethel Erickson, 97, died Saturday, Aug. 29, at Israel Hospice House, Ames. Services are pending at Adams Funeral Home.

THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, September 1, 2009.

Ethel L. Erickson, 97, of Ames, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009, at Israel Family Hospice House. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Adams Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Ethel was born Sept. 1, 1911, in Boone, to John and Bessie (Hamilton) Holbrook. She married Orville Erickson June 21, 1934. She had lived in Ames since 1934 and was the bookkeeper at Tilden’s clothing store. She was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church and enjoyed bowling and knitting.

She is survived by her niece, Beverly Majico, of Oregon; and great-nephew, Richard Munon, of California.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1980; one sister; one brother; and one niece.

Adams Funeral Home and Cremation Service is assisting the family with the arrangements.
