THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, August 25, 2009.

Warren S. Lee, 87, passed on to his God and Creator Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009. A celebration of life service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, and a visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug., 25, both at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

A longtime Ames resident, Warren was born to Shelley and Doris Lee in Boone. He graduated from Boone High School and began working at the Quinn Iron and Wire Works, the railroad and the Midwest Bus Company in Ames. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and began a 37 year career at the AEC after his discharge. He was a member of the American Legion Post 37 and the Moose Lodge.

He is survived by two daughters, Janice Brady, of Minnesota, and Anita Lee, of Des Moines; two granddaughters, Erica Holland, of North Carolina, and Becky Olson, of Wisconsin; four great-grandsons; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Eva Bates Lee; four brothers, Thomas, Charles, Dean and Jake; one sister, Ruth Rising; and special friend, Millie Keigley.
