THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, August 21, 2009.

Mary Alice (Merchant) Lower, 72, formerly of Ames, died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, in Columbia, Mo. A memorial service will be Saturday, Sept. 12, in Columbia, Mo.

Marcy, the daughter of Ival A. and Iza M. Merchant, grew up in Ames, graduated from Ames High School and Iowa State University.

She is survived by her sons, James Lamoureaux and Michael Lamoureaux; grandchildren, Cory, Allison and Alex Lamoureaux; sister, Nancy Kirtley; brother, James Merchant; her former husband, William Lower; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gene Lamoureaux; and brother-in-law, Jack Lysen.
