THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, August 14, 2009.

Sezzea Elota Sheets, 85, formerly of Franklin, Texas, and currently of Boone, passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at Eastern Star Masonic Home-Hearth Stone Center in Boone. She had been a resident at the home since April 2008. In accordance to Sezzea’s wishes, her body will be cremated, with no public service planned. Private disposition of her cremains will be at a later date.

She was born Feb. 2, 1924, in Franklin, Texas, the daughter of Travis and Irene (Mauk) Wilkins. On May 4, 1946, she married Norman L. Sheets in Houston.

Sezzea was an offset print operator in the printing department at Iowa State University in Ames for more than 20 years before she retired. She enjoyed reading, doing word puzzles and playing board games.

She was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church and a retired member of the Hospital Auxiliary and RSVP.

She is survived by her sister, Biddie C. Hanson, of Boone; two sisters-in-law, Irene Wilkins, of Ankeny, and Peggy Wilkins, of Franklin, Texas; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Norman, in 1971; and three brothers, Travis, Jack and Henry Wilkins.

Those wishing to express their sympathies through a memorial may direct their gift to the Eastern Star Masonic Home-Hearth Stone Center or Augustana Lutheran Church, both of Boone.
