Dale Chelsvig

Dale Chelsvig, 47, of Story City died at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames Monday morning July 3, 1978. He had been in ill health since February.

Born January 5, 1931 in Roland, he was the son of Oscar and Judith Chelsvig. He attended Roland School and was confirmed in the Salem Lutheran Church, Roland, later transfering to the St. Petri Church in Story City. On November 10, 1949 he married Irene Menage.

Survivors include his wife, Irene; three sons, Michael, Ricky and Richard all of Story City; three daughters, Patricia (Mrs. Charles) VanPatter, Judy (Mrs. Tim) Watson both of Story City and Cindy (Mrs. Larry) Osmundson of Ames; four grandchildren; one sister, Joyce (Mrs. James) Thompson of rural Story City, three nephews and one niece. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 6, 1978, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City with the Rev. Rolfe Johnstad officiating. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
