Joan J. Williams Oct. 22, 1933, to Aug. 2, 1992

Joan Josephine Williams, 58, of Nevada died of cancer at Mary Greeley Medical Center, Ames.

She was born to Wallace and Evelyn (Hinshaw) Chance at New Providence. On Dec. 26, 1950, she married John B. Williams at Elkton, Md. A 44-year resident of Nevada, she retired this year from Smitty's Super Valu where she was employed as a clerk. She was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Nevada.

Survivors include her husband, John, of Nevada; three sons, Rick Williams of Des Moines, Gary Williams of Ankeny and Kevin Williams of Muscatine; one daughter, Sandra Olson of Nevada; her father, Wallace Chance of Nevada; one brother, Dick Chance of Nevada; one sister, Ruth Ficken of Nevada, and 10 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother.
