Jordan L. Jacobson
Services for Jordan L. Jacobson, 837 N Avenue, will be at the Ryan Funeral Home on Friday, January 10 at 1 p.m. with Pastor Wayne R. Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memory Gardens. He died Tuesday, January 7 at the Story County Hospital after a two-year illness. He was 69.
Born December 12, 1905 to Jacob E. and Lena Jacobson in Hamilton County, he was a resident of Story County almost his entire life. He married Ethel J. Opperman on January 31, 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a member of the Bergen Lutheran Church in Roland and a retired carpenter at the time of his death.
Survivors include: his wife, Ethel; four sons: Jerald E. and Dale R. of Des Moines, Michael D. of Nevada, and Jordan L. Jr. of Texas; two daughters: Mrs. Marlene Pollard of Des Moines and Mrs. Beverly North of Waterloo; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers: Howard of Nevada, Marvin of Michigan and Walter of Des Moines; four sisters: Mrs. Luetta Bart of Grand Rapids, Mich., Mrs. Edith Vaught and Miss Ardis Jacobson of Des Moines and Mrs. Doris Helland of Story City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
