Dorothy Marie (Wilson) Casperson Aug. 17, 1924 - April 26, 2005

Dorothy Marie (Wilson) Casperson, 80, of Nevada, died Tuesday, April 26, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 29 at First Assembly of God Cuhurch in Nevada, with Rev. Thomas Poppe and the Rev. Michael Casperson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memory Gardens in rural Nevada.

Dorothy was born Aug. 17, 1924, in Clyde to Ralph Taylor and Elsie Marie (Rather) Wilson. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1942. She married James Albert Casperson May 7, 1947, in Nevada. Four children were born to this union. These children are Rev. Michael J. Casperson, Gloria Jean (Casperson) Mooney, Carol Ann (Casperson) Mills and Debra Kay (Casperson) Paris.

She worked at Donnelley Marketing until her retirement in 1987. She was an active member of First Assembly of God Church in Nevada. She also was active in the senior citizen program. She was a volunteer at Story County Medical Center in Nevada. She enjoyed collecting cookbooks, traveling and being the church mission secretary.

She is survived by her four children, Michael J. Casperson of Superior, Wis., Gloria Mooney of Des Moines, Carol Mills of Nevada and Debra Paris of Boone; four grandchildren, Andrew (Natasha) Mills, Philip Mills, Cory Paris and Kelsey Paris; two great-grandchildren, Dakota Mills and Mallory Mills; a sister-in-law, Ana Mae Wilson of Nevada; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James on Feb.23, 1987; two sisters; one son-in-law; and one brother, Charles Wilson.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. today at First Assembly of God Church in Nevada.

A memorial fund has been established in Dorothy's name for First Assembly of God Church.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
