Virginia P. Muhlenburg passed away surrounded by family on May 11, 2009 at Mary Greeley Medical Center. She was born in Muscatine, IA on October 5, 1935. She was married 40 years to Loren Ronald Muhlenburg. Of this union they had seven children Bruce (Debbie) Muhlenburg, Cindy (Lauren) Border, Robert (Tracy) Muhlenburg, Brian Muhlenburg, Barry (Valaree) Muhlenburg, Brett Muhlenburg. Siblings Larue Cole from Wilton, IA, Carol Proctor from Wilton, IA and brother Dennis (Shirley) Riemers from Lost Nation, IA. She had eleven grandchildren and five step-grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Dorothy (Larue) Riemers, brother Raymond Sonny Riemers, daughter Nancy Eaton, and great-granddaughter Neveah Swaim.

Visitation was held Wednesday, May 13. Funeral services are being held at Trinity United Methodist Church in Huxley at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 14, with burial following, at Ankeny Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Arrangements are being handled by Memorial Services of Iowa.
