MAXWELL PIONEER IS HEAT VICTIM
MAXWELL— Funeral services for Mrs. W. E. Mills, 73, pioneer resident of this place who died Friday evening at the Iowa sanitarium in Nevada were held Sunday afternoon from the Presbyterian church here. The Rev. Mr. Robinson was in charge of services and burial was in the family lot at the Iowa Center cemetery.
Mrs. Mills who had been in failing health for the past few years collapsed from the heat at her home last week and sustained a fractured hip.
The youngest daughter of Levi and Catherine Flickinger, Mrs. Mills was born at Port Byron, Ill., March 13, 1863. She came to Iowa when five years of age with her parents who settled on the old Flickinger homestead near Maxwell. She spent her entire life with the exception of a few years in Warren county, Ill., on this farm.
She was united in marriage to William E. Mills, Oct. 1, 1893. No children were born to this union.
Surviving are her husband and sister, Mrs. Ella Bruner of Cordova, Ill.
