Mrs. Gouwens Dies at Home Early Friday

Mrs. Cornelius Gouwens, 49, died at her home at 109 Hyland avenue at 1 a. m. Friday, following a long illness.

Born in Collins Oct. 21, 1886, she came to Ames in 1907. She was graduated from Iowa State college in 1911 and from the Pratt institute in Brooklyn, N. Y., in 1916. Before her marriage in 1922 she was acting librarian at Iowa State. She was a member of the Faculty Women's club, being active on the program committee of the history and literature division of the club. She was a member of the Collegiate Presbyterian church.

Surviving her are her husband, member of the mathematics faculty at Iowa State, and two brothers, Irl Rush of Evanston, Ill., and Harry Rush of Fargo, N. D.

Funeral services will be held from the Adams chapel at 1:30 p. m., Saturday, with the Rev. Walter Barlow, pastor of the Collegiate Presbyterian church, in charge. Burial will be in the Colfax cemetery.
