John P. Danielson

John Pilip Danielson, oldest son of Lynn J. and Irene Cole Danielson, was born August 30, 1934, at Nevada, and died on Thursday, August 1, 1968, at Mary Greeley Hospital at Ames after an illness of two years.
He was baptized and confirmed in Bergen Lutheran Church at Roland and attended schools at Radcliffe, Fernald and Milford Township, graduating from Roland High School with the class of 1952. He attended Luther College, Decorah, and Iowa State University, Ames, and had served two years in the U. S. Navy.
On June 7, 1958 he was united in marriage to Felicia Ann Solberg at Fessenden, N. Dak. To this union three children were born: Brian, 9; Steve, 8; and Kirsten, 5.
For seven years, John had been employed by the R. Friedrich and Sons building contractors at Ames as General Superintendent. He was active in community and church affairs, was a member of St. Andrews Lutheran Church, the Cyclone Club, and was an honorary member of Theta Chi fratenity at Iowa State University.
Surviving him are his wife and three children; his parents; one sister, Mr. Daniel Jensen of Ellsworth; two brothers, L. James of Roswell, N. Mex., and David, who has been serving with the U. S. Army in Vietnam; his grandmother, Mr. Sena Cole of Zearing; and other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 3, from St. Andrews Lutheran Church, Ames, with the Rev. William Benbow officiating. Stevens Funeral Home, Ames, was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in the Ames Municipal Cemetery.
