THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, April 10, 2009.

Aune D. Peterson, 96, of Ames, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, April 13, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames. Graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, at Avon Cemetery in Grayslake, Ill. A gathering of friends will follow at Strang Funeral Chapel in Grayslake, Ill., until 5 p.m.

Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.

Aune D. Peterson, 96, of Ames, died Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Monday, April 13, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Ames. Aune was born Jan. 29, 1913, in South Range, Mich., the daughter of Alexander and Tillie (Olson) Jarvey. She worked at Heppner Manufacturing before moving to Ames in 1981 to be close to family. She was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church. While she lived in Hainesville, Ill., she was active with her children in PTA and very involved with their lives. Her fondest memories were traveling with her children around the United States when they were younger, and later, traveling to Germany and France.

Aune is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Robert LaGrange, of Ames; son, Robert Peterson, of Austin, Texas; daughter-in-law, Karen Klaassen, of Mesa, Ariz.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thorval E.; two sons, Gerald Peterson and Theodore Peterson; three sisters; three brothers; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Memorial Lutheran Church, Ames.

Grandon Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family.
