THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Murl LeVern Halverson, 89, of Nevada, passed away Monday, March 9, 2009, at Doctor’s Hospital in Dallas, of congestive heart failure. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 21, at Memorial Lutheran Church in Nevada. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 20, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.

Murl is survived by four children, Steve (Maradeth) Halverson, of Nevada, Barbara (Keith) Westercamp, of Cedar Rapids, Craig (Colleen) Halverson, of Dallas, and Mary (Steve) Wettach, of Mount Pleasant; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Alleman, of Ankeny; one brother-in-law, Howard Buckles, of San Diego; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Esther; his parents; three sisters; and one brother.

A memorial fund has been established at First National Bank in Ames.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
