Jimmy Lee Crook, 39, of Ames, died Friday, March 13, 2009, at Abbington on Grand where he had been a resident. Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Jimmy was born July 17, 1969, in Ames, the son of Robert and Phyllis Dianne (Fry) Crook. Jimmy loved the sound of his mother’s and sister’s voices and smiled every time he heard them. He loved to sit in the sunshine and feel its warmth.

He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Dianne and Raymond Castor, of Mulberry, Ark.; his sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Steven Erdman, of Goldfield; his grandmother, Leona Maxine Fry, of Mulberry, Ark.; and three nieces, Misty (Philip) Schmitz, Megan Ruby and Scottie, and Melanie Lynn Ellis and Garrett; three great-nieces, Makenzi, Izabella and Zhara; and one great nephew, Jacob.

He was preceded in death by his father and his grandfather, John Fry Sr.

Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada is in charge of arrangements.
