Mrs. Swank, 75, Dies Following a Two-Year Illness

Mrs. Emley Swank, 75, mother of Fred Swank, former city councilman from the third ward, died at her home at 208 Lincoln way at 11 p. m., Wednesday. She had been in ill health for more than two years, since she was injured in a fall.

Mrs. Swank Rites To Be Held Satur.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emley B. Swank, 75, who died Wednesday night at her home at 208 Lincoln way, will be held at 2 P. m., Saturday from the Duckworth Funeral home, with the Rev. Walter A. Morgan, pastor of the First Methodist church, in charge. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.

Surviving Mrs. Swank are her husband, two sons, Paul of Springfield, III, and Fred, of Iowa City; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Moore, of Ames, and a sister, Mrs. M. Kessler, Solon.
Mrs. Swank was born Oct. 2, 1860 at Solon, Ia. She came to Ames 37 years ago.

Surviving her are two sons, Paul, of Springfield, Ill., and Fred, of Iowa City; one daughter. Mrs. Anna Moore of Ames, and Mrs. M. Kessler of Solon. Also surviving are six grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m., Saturday from the Duckworth Funeral home, with the Rev. Walter A. Morgan, pastor of the First Methodist church, in charge. Burial will be in the Ames cemetery.
