MARTHA HOLLAND IS DEAD AT KELLEY WED

KELLY—Mrs. Martha Holland, 66, resident of this community for more than 40 years, died Wednesday morning at 11:15 at the Lutheran, hospital in Des Moines, where she underwent an operation Feb. 28.

Funeral arrangements had not been completed Wednesday afternoon.

The Holland home is one mile southeast of Kelley.

Surviving are her husband, Reinert Holland, three sons, Bernice at home and Herman and Emmett of near Kelley, and five daughters, Beulah, a teacher in the Napier schools, Geraldine, a government nurse at Parmalee, S. D., Mildred, also a nurse and Elizabeth and Elaine at home.

Martha Holland Funeral Will Be Conducted Sat.

KELLEY — Funeral services for Martha Holland, 58, who died Wednesday in a Des Molnes hospital, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Bethany Lutheran church here. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. E. R. Rorem will officiate.

The body is being brot to the home one mile southeast of Kelley Thursday and will lie in state there, until time for the services.

Mrs. Holland had been in poor health for the past six months and on Feb. 28 entered the Lutheran hospital where she underwent an operation.

Born on a farm near Huxley, she had spent her entire life in Story county. She was united in marriage to Reinert Holland, Dec. 14, 1893 and 13 children were born to this union, eight of whom are still living.

Mrs. Holland was a member of the Bethany Lutheran church and active in affairs in the community.

Surviving are her husband, three sons, Herman of Kelley, Emmett of Ames and Bernice at home; and five daughters, Beulah, a teacher in the Napier schools, Geraldine, a government nurse at Parmalee, S. D., Mildred, a nurse, and Elizabeth and Elaine at home. Also two brothers, Hans Larson of Huxley, and Lars Larson of Des Moines, and one sister, ??? Munson of Huxley and three grandchildren.
