Doris E. Lock, 74, formerly of Nevada, died on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at her Huxley home of pulmonary fibrosis. Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. on Friday, March 6 at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street, Nevada with Pastor Bruce Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery.

Doris was born on September 2, 1934 in Carlisle to Leonard Raymond and Elsie Marie (Mullinix) Peek. She was a 1955 Lacona High School graduate. On July 5, 1957, Doris married Ronald Eugene Lock at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. She was employed by General Telephone and retired from Norwest Bank in 1999. Doris enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and researching genealogy.

Doris is survived by her husband, Ronald E. Lock of Huxley; 3 daughters, Ronda K. (James) Johnson of Newton, Kathy S. Williams of Muscatine, and Sherry L. Tjarks of Strafford, MO; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a brother, Leonard L. Peek of Indianola; and a sister Velda Pat Whiteside of Banning, CA.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, son Steven Eugene Lock on May 19, 1986, sister Darlene Eck in 2008, an infant brother, and 2 infant sisters.

A memorial fund has been established.

Service:

Funeral services will be held 1:30 P.M. on Friday, March 6 at Chet Ryan Mortuary & Cremation Services.

Cemetery:

Burial will follow service in the Nevada Municipal Cemetery
