Marguerite J. Banks, 92, of Ames, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009. Services are pending with Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.

THE AME TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Tuesday, March 3, 2009.

Marguerite J. Banks, of Ames, died Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009, at Story County Long Term Care of complications from pneumonia. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until the memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Inurnment will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery.

Marguerite was born Feb. 21, 1917, in Ames, to Eldred and Elanor Dunning. She married Harold “Buster” Banks, a local Ames farmer. They added to their family with the adoption of their daughter, Lynn Renee.

She was a farm wife and mother, and also was employed for several years at the Bournes Corporation, from which she later retired, along with her husband, and moved to the town of Ames.

She is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Banks) Stevens, who now resides on the family farm in Ames with her husband, Tom. Other survivors are one sister, Mildred Yeoman, of Crawfordsville, Ind.; three nephews, Jim, Chuck and Mike Yeoman, also of Indiana; two nieces, Janna Woodard and Pat Yeoman, of Colorado; one granddaughter, Brittaney Clark, and great-granddaughter, Ayva Weikel, both of Atlantic.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

She will be missed by all.
