Herman Ray Mittlestadt (1933-2008)

THE TRI-COUNTY TIMES, Story County, Iowa, Thursday, January 8, 2009.

Herman Ray Mittlestadt, 75 of Nevada died on Saturday, December 27, 2008 at Story County Long Term Care in Nevada. His body has been cremated and burial of the cremains will be held in the Cambridge Cemetery at a later date.

Herman was born on July 12, 1933 in Huxley to Frank and Lillie (Pelham) Mittlestadt. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.

Herman is survived by a son, Timothy Mittlestadt of Des Moines; a daughter, Teresa R. Stroup of Spickard, MO.; three brothers, Clayton of Nevada; Jim of Romeo, Michigan and Jerry of San Diego, Ca. and seven grandchildren.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ed Mittlestadt and two sisters, June Aldrich and Helen Aldrich.

Herman worked as a mechanic for many years at Rex's Phillip 66, Ames, Iowa. Herman also worked in farming and did yard work.

Chet Ryan Mortuary and Cremation Services has been entrusted with Herman and his family.
