THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Friday, January 2, 2009.

Anna Marie Arnold, 86, of Ames, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2009. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Ames.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, at Stevens Memorial Chapel.

Anna Marie Arnold was born Feb. 21, 1922, in Ames, to Jens Kristian Frederik Jensen and Pouline Rasmussen Stolberg Jensen. She graduated from Ames High School and had attended State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls.

She married William Theodore Arnold on Dec. 15, 1941. Together they owned and operated a restaurant in Ames and their own poultry business at their home. She also had been employed as a cook and caterer.

She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 37 and a member of Gilbert Lutheran Church.

She is survived by three sons, Jerry, of Squires, Mo., Chuck, of Russell, and Kenneth (Terri), of Ames; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; grandson, Jeffery Arnold; five brothers; and four sisters.
