THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Wednesday, December 17, 2008.

Helen P. (Olson) Casey, 79, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2008, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

Helen, the daughter of Andrew and Jennie (Pedersen) Olson, was born on March 10, 1929, in Kanawha, Iowa. She was raised and educated in the area of her birth.

She married Marvin Casey on July 2, 1968, in Ames.

She worked for the Des Moines Register and was a keypunch operator at Iowa State University for more than 25 years.

She enjoyed sewing, painting and ceramics, which she received several ribbons for at the Wright County Fair. She was also a 500 card game player.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Kenneth; and two great-nephews Alec Lawson and Jorma Bentley.

She is survived by two sisters, Mildred Lofgreen (Kenneth), of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Vivian Crandall (Toby), of Eagle Grove; one brother, Alvin Olson (Elaine), of Eagle Grove; one sister-in-law, Joanne Olson, of Eagle Grove; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with Pastor Stan Peterson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the Funeral Home.

Private family burial will be in Ames Municipal Cemetery. Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
