Herman Hougland, 98, of Story City, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at Timberland Village in Story City. Funeral services are pending with Soderstrum Funeral Home.

Herman K. Hougland, 98, of Story City, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at his home. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Story City. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Herman Hougland was born Nov. 2, 1910, near Story City, to Hans and Christina (Wicks) Hougland. He is survived by one sister, Jeanette Thorsbakken, of Story City; one sister-in-law, Ellen Hougland, of Randall; and many nieces and nephews.

Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City is in charge of arrangements.
