MARTHA MCCASHEN IS DEAD AT MAXWELL

MAXWELL - Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Elizabeth McCashen, 65, who died Sunday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Warrell, were conducted from the Presbyterian church here Monday afternoon. The Rev. Mr. Ichenberry of Dallas Center assisted by the Rev. S. C. Wadding of Des Moines, was in charge. Burial was in the Maxwell cemetery.

Mrs. McCashen's death was due to cancer, from which she had suffered more than a year. She had made her home with her daughter the past eight months. She had spent her entire life in and around Maxwell. She was born June 27, 1870, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. W. John. She married Hugh McCashen March 17, 1903 [1908?]. Twin daughters, Mrs. Warrell of Maxwell and Mrs. Ray Skila of Des Moines, survive. She also leaves five grandchildren, two brothers, Clark of Maxwell and John J. of Burt, and two sisters, Miss Rose John of Maxwell and Mrs. Edith Axford of Orchard, Wash. Her husband died August 10, 1935.

Music at the services was furnished by a mixed quartet composed of Mrs. V. O. Ray, Mrs. G. W. Parker, Ross Olinger and Claire Olinger. Pall bearers were W. P. Rupp, J. E. Ward, David Pearson, C. B. French, Morris Bowen and J. H. Cleverley.
