Theodore N. Chada, 95, of Fort Dodge, died Friday, Oct. 10, 2008, at Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at Gunderson Funeral Chapel in Fort Dodge, with the Rev. James Chesnutt officiating. Burial will be in North Lawn Cemetery with military honors presented by V.F.W. Post No. 1856.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Wednesday at Gunderson Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
Theodore Norman Chada, the son of Theodore and Hannah Chada, was born March 29, 1913, in Otho. He attended school in Webster County and then worked on the family farm. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He married Dolores Targgart Nov. 24, 1947, in Fort Dodge. After his discharge from the service, he was employed in a body shop and then was employed in the maintenance department at Iowa State University, from which he retired after 18 years. He also was involved in the construction of the Bohemian Hall.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores; his children, Darwin Chada, of Renton, Wash., and Janet Van Eps, of Edgewater, Colo.; four grandchildren, Douglas, Andrew, Thomas and Alane; and eight great-grandchildren.
