Tribune-Times County News Service
COLLINS—Funeral services for the late Chauncey W. Vasey, 42, who died at his home on the old homestead south of here late Monday afternoon were held in the Christian church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. A. B. Kern of Lake City, former pastor here, officiated. Burial was made in the Collins cemetery.
While death resulted from pneumonia, Vasey had been afflicted for several years previous with asthma and other complications. About two years ago he went to New Mexico where he lived for 16 months and believing his condition greatly improved returned to his home here.
Mr. Vasey was married to Flora Ozmun in 1914. She and five children, William, Leona, Charles, Lenora and Albert, survive him. Other survivors are his aged father, William Vasey, five brothers and three sisters. The brothers are: Charles, John, Arthur, Jeffe, and Raleigh. The sisters: Mrs. Euclid Harsh, Mrs. Arthur Hand and Miss Ethel. With the exception of John, whose home is in Minnesota, all members of the family live in or near Collins.
The Vasey family is one of the old and respected families of the community and has played an important part in its development.
