Ronald "Terry" Darrah, 78, of Nevada, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Private memorial services were Sunday, Sept. 14, at Bacon Funeral Home and Crematory in Nevada.
Ronald was born May 16, 1930, at Tabor, the son of Warren and Ruth (Gonzales) Darrah. He married Patricia Brown on Dec. 18, 1951, in Council Bluffs. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a route salesman for Hiland Potato Chips before he retired in 1992. He also was co-owner of the Hartzer House Restaurant in Nevada for nine years. He was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Nevada; two sons and daughters-in-law, Neal (Lora) Darrah, of Glenwood, and Jerry (Carla) Darrah, of Nevada; one daughter and son-in-law, Leora (Ray) Darrah-Jarnagin, of Nevada; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Frank Darrah, of Cedar Falls; and four sisters, Nancy Handly, of Nemaha, Neb., Elizabeth Bingham, of Brownville, Neb., Merrilee (Dan) Hartzer, of Cambridge, and Susan (Butch) Pontow, of Beloit, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
