AMES DAILY TRIBUNE-TIMES, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Monday, March 24, 1930.

COLO - Mrs. Martha Sherratt, 77, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Donaldson, here Monday morning of old age and complications. Mrs. Sherratt has been in poor health since suffering a stroke December 5, 1929.

Funeral services will probably be held here Wednesday morning. Burial will be at Hudson, Iowa.

Mrs. Sherratt was born in Jobnstown, Penn., on August 18,1852, but while still a young girl moved to Hudson in Black Hawk county with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Miller. On March 5, 1873 she was married to W. H. Sherratt at Hudson and the couple spent all their life there. Mrs. Sherratt has made her home with her daughter in Colo since the death of her husband 11 years ago.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Sherratt of whom two survive, the daughter here and a son, Ransom, of Hudson. Rose Mary and Jake preceded the mother in death.

Mrs. Martha Sherratt Rites Held Wednesday

COLO - Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Sherratt were held at the Evangelical church here Wednesday morning at 11 oclock with the Rev. Mr. Beyers of Hudson officiating. Burial was in Hudson. Several persons from Hudson attended the services here.

Mrs. Sheratt, who lived practically all her life in Hudson, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. H. Donaldson, here Monday.
