THE AMES TRIBUNE, Ames, Story County, Iowa, Sunday, September 7, 2008.

Daniel L. Seward entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, at Pursel-Davis Funeral Home in Marshalltown.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, at the funeral home.

Dan was born April 14, 1964, in Mason City, to Betty Jean (Teepe) and George Douglas Seward. He was a 1982 graduate of L.D.F. High School, where he excelled in track and art.

He was a department head for the Department of Transportation for 20 years leaving recently to complete his degree in architectural engineering. He enjoyed art, cooking, hunting, fishing, trapping and gardening. He was a member of the Isaac Walton League.

He will be missed by his mother, Betty Jean Seward; his children, Meagen and Jordan Seward; and his siblings, Bruce Seward and his wife, Penny, Rebecca Shook and her husband, Sherman, Teresa Thornton, Scott Douglass Seward, Sherri Waymire, and twin sister, Jan Harned and her husband, Kevin.

He joins his father, George, in eternal life.
