INFECTION KILLS CAMBRIDGE MAN

2 Others of Community Seriously Ill

CAMBRIDGE—Infection has claimed the life one Cambridge man and has two other residents of this community in the hospital.

Herman Martin, Rock Island railroad agent at Cambridge, died late Friday afternoon at the Iowa sanitarium at Nevada of infection following a slight cut on his thumb from cutting cheese. The wound, at first not considered important, festered and blood poisoning caused death.

Funeral services were held at the Bishop funeral home at Nevada Monday afternoon. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery. Mr. Martin was about 35 years of age and had been Rock Island agent of Cambridge for three years. He lived with his father and sister here.
