EDWARD A. CHAPMAN FUNERAL ON SUNDAY

NEVADA - Funeral services for Edward A. Chapman, 80, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J. B. Smith, here Friday evening, were held from the Smith home here Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. The Rev. L. E. Watson of the Nevada Methodist church, was in charge of the services. Burial was in the Nevada cemetery.

Mr. Chapman died suddenly. He was seated at dinner when a heart attack caused him to fall over into the arms of his wife.

Surviving relatives include: Three sons and three daughters, Gertrude Smith of Nevada, Orr of Sidney, Downey, Cal.; Edward of Nevada, Belle Applegate of Nevada and Elva Harrington of Colo; his wife; two brothers, George of Nevada and William of Los Angeles, Cal.; a sister, Mrs. Addie French of Nevada; and numerous grand children and great grandchildren.

Mr. Chapman was born in Batavia, N. Y., June 11, 1850. His parents were: Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin E. Chapman. While still a boy he moved to Wisconsin with his parents. In 1870 the family moved to Iowa and July 4, 1872, Mr. Chapman was married to Belle Dunkelbarger. The couple operated a farm at the southwest corner of Nevada most of their life. One daughter, Mary, preceded her father in death.

[It appears the name of one of the sons was missing in the article, perhaps one who lived in Downey, California.]
