Richland Township Pioneer Succumbs To Heart Disease

NEVADA, Jan. 18, - Mrs. Segar Nelson, 82 years old, a Richland township pioneer, died Thursday night at her home northeast of here after a long illness with heart disease.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, at the home at 1:30, and later at the Johnson Grove church, and burial will be in the Johnson Grove cemetery. The Rev. L. E. Watson of the Nevada and Johnson Grove Methodist churches will be in charge.

Mrs. Nelson was born Christine Rasmussen in Denmark, and came to this country with her mother in 1884. Two years later she was married at Zearing, and had lived since then on the Richland township farm. For the lsat three years she had been totally blind. She is survived by her husband, one son, R. A. Nelson, who lives on the homestead, and two brothers, C. F. Rasmussen of Nevada, and Hans Rasmussen of Marshalltown.
