Dec. 18, 1919-July 21, 2008

Patricia E. Runneals, 88, of Nevada, died Monday, July 21, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 25, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada.

A vigil service will be at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada, with visitation following until 8 p.m. A rosary will be at 8 p.m.

Patricia E. Runneals was born Dec. 18, 1919, the daughter of Daniel G. and Ester L. (Ouellette) McGillicuddy. She attended schools in Caribou and Fort Kent, Maine. She married Milliard V. Runneals May 13, 1944, in Caribou, Maine. He preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1984.

They moved to Nevada in 1945. Sheworked for R.H. Donnelley Corporation for 13 years, retiring in 1974.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Nevada, St. Francis Study Club, VFW Auxiliary, Catholic Ladies and Story County Hospital Auxiliary. She loved her family, grandchildren, shopping, bowling, talking about Maine and talking about and eating lobster and fiddleheads.

She is survived by three daughters, Mary Jacqueline Runneals, of Nevada, Peggy (Dick) Brandt, of Carlisle, and Fran (Cal) Dunshee, of Ames; one son, Daniel (Jane) Runneals, of Nevada; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Dunshee, of Minneapolis, Megan Brandt, of Altoona, David Runneals, of Nevada, and Johnathan Runneals, of Nevada; one sister, Marion Pleva, of Newark, Del.; and one brother-in-law, Charles Lockhart, of Hillsboro, Ore.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Millard; and one sister, Frances Lockhart.

Memorials may be made to Patricia E. Runneals Memorial Fund.
