Jemima Cochran was born in Sercy county, Ohio, June 7, 1846; died at her home in this city Sunday morning, Nov. 24, 1895. From the union of deceased with James Noble, there were eight children born, three girls and five boys, two of the boys having preceded the mother to the great beyond, three survive her, two of whom, John and Frank, reside in Story county and the other at Belle Plaine. The two daughters, Mrs. John Scott and Mrs. Dudley Arrasmith, reside in Ames, and the other is in Indiana. The subject of this sketch united with the Christian church in early life and has since led an upright, Christian life. She was one of the old settlers of this part of Story county, where she was held in high esteem by all those who shared her acquaintance. The remains were laid to rest at the Pleasant Grove M. E. church cemetery Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock followed to this last resting place by a large concourse of neighbors and friends. The funeral service was conducted by Rev. J. K. Hester, pastor of the Christian church, of this city. The writer, in producing these lines, is unfortunate in never having met the good woman, who is the subject of this brief obituary notice.

CARD OF THANKS
We desire to thank our friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us during the recent illness and at the death and burial of one we loved; who was to us a devoted wife and loving mother. May God's richest blessings be upon you all. James Noble and Family
