Joseph William Anderson

Dec. 28, 1924 - Oct. 3, 1999

Joseph William Anderson, 74, of Colo, died of congestive heart failure on Sunday at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. The body has been cremated and no services are planned.

Joseph William Anderson was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Wright County, Mo., to Frederick W. and Mabel E. (Dugger) Anderson. He was in the Marine Corps during WWII. Joe married Ester Neuman on Oct. 3, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo. He retired in 1987 from sales in the concrete construction business. Joe was a member of the American Legion Post #139 in Colo and the Elks in Ames. He enjoyed reading, golfing and woodcarving.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Patricia Maas of Whitewater, Wis., and Sandra Anderson of Milton, Vt.; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Oswalt and Marjorie Sargent, both of Collins; one brother, Max Anderson of Collins.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Memorials can be made directly to Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
